Farm Credit Services of Mid-America, a $ 17.5 billion financial services cooperative serving more than 92,500 farmers and rural residents in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee announced that five customer-members have been elected to the organization’s Board of Directors.

The elected board members include new members Kaye Hurst Whitehead of Muncie, Indiana (Delaware County) and Brandon Robbins of Cookeville, Tennessee (Putnam County). The incumbents are Dan Flanagan of Campbellsville, Kentucky (Taylor County) and Andrew Wilson of Somerset, Ohio (Perry County). Their terms run through October, 2015. Additionally, Kathryn Eschbacher-Timberlake of Mauckport, Indiana (Harrison County) was elected to fill a vacancy on a two-year term. Her term runs through October, 2013.

They are a part of an 18-person board who meet monthly in Louisville, Kentucky, the cooperative’s headquarters, where they set policies and the overall direction for the association. Additionally, Farm Credit owner-members elected a 20-person nominating committee who will meet next June to select candidates for the 2012 cooperative elections. More than 8,000 members cast ballots in the elections. Participating in the election process is one of the benefits of cooperative membership.

2011 Board of Directors Election Results

The following Farm Credit members were elected to the board of directors in October 2011:

Kaye Hurst Whitehead

Muncie, Indiana (Delaware County) Four-year term

As president of Seldom Rest Farms, Kaye owns 1,200 acres and leases an additional 2,300 acres where she raises corn, soybeans, wheat and hay and has a farrow-to-finish hog operation. She has served on a number of local, state and national pork and agriculture boards. Kaye received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Kentucky.

Dan Flanagan

Campbellsville, Kentucky (Taylor County) Four-year term

Dan farms under the names of 4-E Farms, Inc. and Saloma Chick Litter Company. The operation consists of 500 acres owned and 250 leased where they raise poultry, grain and produce. Dan has served on the Farm Credit board since 2008. He is a member of several agriculture organizations and was recently elected as chair of the Kentucky Council of Agriculture. Dan has a Bachelor of Arts from Campbellsville College as well as Masters Degrees from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Louisville.

Andrew Wilson

Somerset, Ohio (Perry County) Four-year term

Andrew is a swine contract grower. He owns 345 acres and leases an additional 300 acres where he also raises corn, soybeans, wheat and hay and has a cow-calf operation. A member of the Farm Credit board since 2008, Andrew is active in the state and local Farm Bureau. He received his Bachelor of Science in AgriBusiness from Wilmington College.

Brandon Robbins

Cookeville, Tennessee (Putnam County) Four-year term

Brandon is co-owner of Mountain Farm International. On 1,350 acres, he also has a cow-calf operation under the name of R&R Farms. He is a former Farm Credit Services financial services officer and received his Bachelor of Science from Middle Tennessee State University.

Kathryn Eschbacher-Timberlake

Mauckport, Indiana (Harrison County) Two-year term

Kathryn is a clerk for the Department of Child Services of Indiana-Harrison County. She also has a 206-acre farm consisting of Polled Hereford cattle, hay, corn, soybeans and timber. She is involved in a number of state and national cattle organizations and received her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Sullivan University in Louisville, Kentucky.

2012 Nominating Committee Election Results

The following were elected to serve on the 2012 Nominating Committee. They will meet in June of 2012 to select candidates for the 2012 director and nominating committee elections.
